We often think of the term “dreamer” with a negative connotation. Dreamers‚ we hear‚ are impractical people. Dreamers think‚ but they don’t do. The truth is‚ though‚ that the most accomplished individuals who ever lived used the power of dreaming to rule their world.
To turn your dream-power into something practical‚ practice deliberate dreaming. If you do not like any condition in the world‚ or any condition of your life‚ use your dream-power to transform it. You bring about what you dream about. Your imagination exerts a directive influence upon the conditions to come. When you envision the future that you want‚ you are‚ in a sense‚ looking through a mental window into the future. Your dreams direct your destiny so start dreaming.
The power of dreaming has far more potency than you may realize. When you choose to focus your attention on a dream‚ a vision‚ or an imaginary representation of a condition that you desire‚ you choose your future. But when you entertain dreams or visions of conditions that you do not want‚ your dreams send your life into that direction.
The mind is like an extremely powerful creative machine that everyone has‚ but that few seem very well-trained to use effectively. You can tell this by the state of our world. Look at all the pollution‚ poverty‚ crime‚ and war. While dreamers rule the world‚ few seem to rule their dreams very well! Its called the 80/20 rule whereby 20% control the resource of 80%.
Dreamers do indeed rule the world. What the world needs‚ though‚ is more conscious dreamers to fulfill its glorious potential. Being a big dreamer doesn’t mean that you walk around with your head in the clouds. It means that you’re seeking a purpose for your life and it means that you’re becoming fulfilled in the process. People that get into the habit of dreaming big will accomplish those goals because they have the right mindset. You need to look at life with the perspective that you can achieve anything that’s possible. If you can accomplish big dreams, why wouldn’t you go after them? Why would you want to settle for small dreams?
Here’s a list of reasons why you should be a big dreamer:
1. Following Your Dreams Connects You to Your Inner Self.
If you want to be happy right down to the core of your being, you need to be a big dreamer. Big dreams can fulfill you right down to the soul because you’ve sought out your true purpose in life. It’s likely the biggest reason you wouldn’t want to settle on small dreams. The bigger your dreams the more you have to dig deep in yourself to find all that it takes to accomplish those dreams. People fail to understand this Law. I call it the LAW of DREAMERS (it states that the bigger the dream, the deeper you have to dig into yourself to find what it takes to accomplish your dreams). As relates your dreams all that you need is in you and within your reach so stop thinking it’s about how much or how educated you are. Most times the more educated you are the more you need everything to make sense before you make a move towards living your dreams when in most cases you just have to do it afraid. Extremely educated folks that base everything on their degrees and accreditions hate doing anything afraid because it goes against logical reasoning.
2. Because You Have a Choice.
You should be a big dreamer because you do have a choice in the matter. Sure you might have a goal or dream that is very difficult to achieve. You might come face to face with failure, and that can be rather frightening. Many people are led down the path where they decide to never attempt their ultimate “big dreams”. You don’t have to be one of these people. You can choose to follow your biggest dreams. If it’s as simple as dreaming the n why have small dreams, small plans or small visions of your future. Its your choice and it should be one that will rock your world or boggle your mind a bit. It’s not a dream except its going to cost you something to achieve it and it’s not a dream if it takes regular activities to accomplish it so let you mind choice to dream big.
3. You’ll Be Following Your True Calling.
There are not many feelings that could be considered better than knowing that you’ve found meaning for your life. Perhaps you don’t know what your true calling in life is yet, and you won’t get to that point without dreaming big first. Some people might say that their true calling fell right into their lap, but this isn’t always the case. You need to do some deep thinking and take action to get there. You ultimately start dreaming about what your most passionate about. Your mind wont find anything to be important except that which your mind is extremely passionate about which in most cases is your true calling. Stop undermining your passion and start dreaming in connection with your passion.
4. Your Dreams Will Come True.
Your dreams don’t need to remain dreams forever; they have a real possibility of coming true. If you’re a big dreamer, you’ll achieve big dreams. It’s a strong belief in yourself combined with those big dreams that’ll make you a personal success. Don’t settle on small dreams when you can be achieving bigger things. People get weary of dreamers because they think all they do is dream and dream of a better future with possibilities but they never see it happen. People also get weary of dreamers because they were once dreamers and their dreams just didn’t make it out of the dream phase and so they can’t imagine why anyone else would want to be a dreamer. Your dreams will come true when you put a plan in motion despite what people are thinking or doing. The worse nightmare of a dreamer is that those dreams never get out of the dream phase (they dream and die dreaming). Give your dream a voice by having a plan to watch it come true.
5. You’ll Be Open to Possibilities.
When you dream big things, you open many doors. You’ll encounter a good amount of excitement as you go about life because you’ll be in adventurous and unpredictable situations. This is because big dreams can push your limits and keep your life fresh. Who wouldn’t want a life filled with excitement? When you have your dreams and put a plan in motion you begin to open many doors and those many doors wont always be rosy and easy to open or sometimes easy to close but you will learn and grow stronger and wiser and move in the right direction. People can start believing in your dreams just because you took that first step to having a plan. The bigger the dream the bigger the challenges and the more open you will be to the possibilities that lie within and without.
6. You’ll Achieve More.
When you dream big, you’ll achieve great things. You may even end up achieving more than you ever thought you could. For example, you might be at a crossroads where you’re considering whether or not to get a job in a certain field or start a business in that same field. The job is a safe bet with a likely limited salary. The business is the “big dream” that can provide fulfillment and not just in the salary potential. You’ll be personally fulfilled and you’ll achieve more for your hard work. Its not a big dream when everyone can or is doing the same thing or accomplishing the same result. Yes it may seem like a dream based on your personally situation and what it took for you to get there but it’s not the same as a BIG DREAM. Am sorry to say but going to university, getting your bachelors or an MBA/PhD, getting a job no matter how much it pays, buying a house (even if it’s the house of your dreams) etc is not dreaming BIG. You might ask why; well whatever you accomplish out of these things can be done by anyone because it’s just the NORM. When you have a big dream you achieve more in the sence that in most cases its unique to you and how you got there is also unique to you. Going against the grain and starting your own business is dreaming big because your going against the norm and at the end of the day you don’t just have more money (if that’s the case) but you would have achieved more than the folk that earns more money doing the same thing. You would be adding the GDP of an economy by providing employment, purchasing services at the business level etc… Dream big and achieve more.
7. It’s the Right Thing to Do for the YOUR World.
Big dreams are the reasons why the world changes for the better. It’s the reason why there have been so many great inventions, and cures for diseases, etc. Big dreams give you the opportunity to truly leave your mark on your world. Let your imagination run wild but let intuition drive your imagination if not for anything for YOUR world.
“All Great People Are Great Dreamers, All great people are both practical and logical. They are usually considered odd ducks and dreamers at first. But it was the “dreamer” who was ahead of his contemporaries, by a quarter century, and who “saw” the hand-press whereby journalism was born. Then you had the dreamer who played with kites and attached a key to it and connected electricity to it. “Can’t be done” cries the man without imagination and those with an even lower caliber of intuition and dream, mutter under their breath, “He will fail.” And yet time has proven, over and over again, that it is the dreamer who can see a civilization, yet to be, that the common man can not even begin to believe in.”
